Mickey Brookes:

I really don't have a lot of interesting things to report on my life.
The best thing I have done recently was to volunteer for the Park Service
in St. John, The US Virgin Islands. We were doing an archaeological
dig for the Taino Indians. I was only able to work for a month but it made
me want to be twenty years younger so I could go back to college and do
some more studying.

I spend my time going to California (son lives there). Florida (a daughter)
and to Texas (another daughter plus three grandchildren) It is fun but I am
still looking for a permanent residence.

I have been doing much work on my family tree. My son gave me a trip to
Europe so I am spending December and two weeks in January doing more
work. I am concentrating on England, Scotland and France. The millennieum
will be spent in Paris which should be interesting.

Cathy Veatch is trying to talk some of us in going to China. That may be
the next project after welcoming a new grandchild in California.

I hope you all have had a very healthy and happy year. It is hard to
believe Fiji was so far in the past.

Best wishes to you all.
